One of the main goals of our office is to prevent dental disease. Along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatrics, we recommend that a child’s first dental visit be scheduled by their 1st birthday. It is important that your child receives proper dental care and practices proper oral hygiene right from the start. The first dental visit will be focused on education. After discussing your child’s eating habits and hygiene practices, we will make individualized recommendations to help prevent dental disease. We will also review the importance of nutrition and dental care for maintaining a healthy and beautiful smile for life.
It is very important to make the first visit as positive and enjoyable for your child as possible. We want your child to enjoy getting to know our doctors and staff and be comfortable at all times. A pleasant, comfortable first visit builds trust and helps put the child at ease during future visits. Let your child know that the doctors and staff will explain everything in detail and will answer any questions they may have.
We want our practice to be a place that children and their parents look forward to visiting. Our dental home is a place where parents are welcomed to join their child during treatment, whether it is to get their teeth cleaned or to get a cavity filled. When parents join their children for visits they will also have the opportunity to witness how dedicated our staff is to their child’s comfort.
